Team iC 2018: Get To Know Hayden Ashley Ward

They Say The Third Time’s The Charm

Hey Y’all!

My name is Hayden Ashley Ward, and I am super excited to return to Team iC for my third year in a row!

Two years ago I was chosen to be on the first Team iC Junior Team, and last year, I was old enough to be part of the Team iC Senior Team. Being old enough to run with the senior crowd also meant that last year was the first year that I was eligible for Worlds… something that I had been looking forward to since my days cheering on a tiny team! My first Worlds was an amazing experience! I am in awe of the outstanding talent in our sport!

I am 14 years old and live down south on the coast in Mobile, Alabama, where I cheer at Gem of Champions. I have been cheering most of my life, as this is my 10th year of competitive cheerleading. This is my second season with Gem of Champions. I cheer on Gem of Champions Senior Coed 5, Black Diamonds and Junior 5, Zircon. I am a flyer and a tumbler on Black Diamonds and a tumbler on Zircon. I actually get to base on Junior 5, which is a new experience for me.

Being a flyer gives me the advantage of knowing exactly what I need to do as a base!

Both of my teams are working hard toward bids. My goal is to make it to Worlds and Summit this season!

I am so thankful to be chosen again for Team iC. They say the third time’s the charm! I love all of the amazing experiences that come with being part of Team iC, such as going to the best cheer camp on Earth, Camp Woodward, and meeting all the new Team iC members. I am so excited to meet all of you guys too! I think that making friends from all over America and all over the World is probably my favorite thing about our sport.
