This past year, we partnered with our friends at Cheer & Dance Extreme to bring you the Spreading Good Cheer initiative, designed to recognize and honor individuals who are making a difference in the lives of others. Congratulations to all of our 2017 athletes who are making a difference to Spread Good Cheer throughout their communities! Here’s a look-back at each and every one of these inspirational young ladies.

February 2017 | Ava Marie Gonzalez
Ava Marie leads by a positive example by volunteering throughout her community and spreading kindness. She’s a firm believer in that small acts of kindness can change the world! She has volunteered with the Salvation Army Red Kettle drive and organized a wrapping paper drive for a local children’s emergency shelter. In addition, Ava Marie serves as an ambassador for non-profit organizations such as Love Em With Kindness and A Little Helps A Lot. She also enjoys collecting donations for The Crayon Initiative, as well as Cardz for Kidz.

April 2017 | Alahni Napier
Alahni spreads good cheer through her numerous volunteer efforts. Giving to charity is something that she does from the heart. Most recently, she hosted a “Warmer Winter Drive” and collected hats, scarves and gloves for the homeless. Prior to that she hosted a Smile Drive, where she collected and delivered over 100 dental hygiene products to her local YWCA shelter. Alahni loves to make people smile, and she believes that even the smallest of efforts can make a huge difference in the world.

June 2017 | Cadence Catalano
Cadence spreads cheer by helping those in need. She has been committed to serving her community since she can remember, as it also plays a large role in her mother’s life. Just this past year at her school, Cadence started the first student-led initiative to collect spoons and bowls to help feed children in Nicaragua with the help of “Feed the 5,000.” She was able to collect over 4,000 pieces and has set an even bigger goal of 8,000 pieces for this next year. In addition, Cadence was even honored by k104.7 radio as a “kid who rocks” for her efforts and says can’t wait to do more and get the word out!

August 2017 | Chloe Giddens
Chloe is constantly spreading good cheer throughout her community by volunteering for many different organizations. Recently, Chloe partnered with her mom to organize an event for a local fire station to show support and gratitude. She has even helped firefighters put out flags throughout the community on several national holidays. In addition, Chloe enjoys organizing supplies at the local food bank, and collecting new stuffed animals to give to children in local hospitals. October 2017 | Lilith Glass
Five-year-old Lilith spreads good cheer by volunteering regularly at local businesses and organizations throughout her community. She has cleaned graffiti off of buildings, painted patients’ nails at nursing homes, participated in walks that raise funds for various illnesses, and volunteered with animals at her local pet shelter. Lilith loves giving back to her community while bringing cheer to those she meets.

 

December 2017 | Jada Wesley
Jada Is a Level 5 All Star cheerleader at Louisiana Spirit and a first year high school cheerleader at Holy Cross. Jada continuously volunteers to work with the younger athletes in her gym to help build their skills and confidence. She has become a big sister to many athletes who look up to and depend on her positive attitude. In school, Jada is a member of the Principal Honors Award Club, National Honors Society and Student Council. During the summer, you can find Jada volunteering her time working at youth camps, nursing homes, as well as helping to tutor others in math.
