Who Will It Be?

Each April during the Cheerleading and Dance Worlds, the USASF recognizes the achievements and contributions of leaders within the industry. Honorees will be unveiled at the VIP Awards Ceremony in Orlando, Florida. Inside Cheerleading magazine has partnered with the USASF to present the 2010 Gym Owner of the Year Award.

The VIP Reception and Awards Ceremony is an important step in the growth and achievement of All-Star Cheerleading and Dance,” said Matt McDonough, USASF Director. “With a partnership from the industry media, peers can recognize each other for their achievements and good people receive praise for the difference they have made. There are some amazing individuals in All-Star cheerleading and dance and they deserve to be recognized.”

Nominations for the award can now be submitted into the iC offices online through www.insidecheerleading.com. "We can tell you that it will be an extremely difficult task selecting just one recipient," said Shane Womack, Director of Marketing for Inside Cheerleading. "There are a tremendous number of gym owners out there doing an incredible job. But this year’s honoree represents so many things positive about the gym experience."

“I remember being at the very first Cheerleading Worlds years ago and sensing right away what an impact the event would have on cheerleading and its development,” said Inside Cheerleading Publisher Chris Korotky. “At the core of the industry and the event are the gym owners who provide amazing opportunities for today’s talented cheerleaders to grow, as athletes, leaders and individuals. We’re extremely proud to present the Gym Owner of the Year Award, in partnership with the USASF.”

Among the other awards that will be presented Friday are The Chairman’s Cup, Small Gym of the Year, U.S. Cheer Coach of the Year, International Cheer Coach of the Year, and the International Achievement Award. USASF Hall of Fame Inductees will also be presented by USASF Chairman Jim Chadwick. In addition, Young Athlete and College Scholarship Programs are on the line-up.

Look for a feature on the Gym Owner of the Year recipient in the May/June 2010 issue of Inside Cheerleading magazine. That issue will also feature complete coverage of the 2010 Cheerleading Worlds. We’ll also cover the 2010 ICU Cheerleading World Championships, an event that will feature over 40 National Teams competing at the highest levels of the sport. Who will prevail? USA, China, Italy, Mexico and many more will be battling it out on the mat in what is sure to be an historic moment for cheer.
